DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, June 19\, 2025 & Friday\, June 20\, 2025 \nMorning Session: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm \nAfternoon Session: 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm \nPRE-REGISTER at bit.ly/bpaprereg \nThis workshop will be for the Border Patrol Agent (BPA) position (Website for BPA information: https://careers.cbp.gov/s/career-paths/usbp/bpa) \n\nAttendees must meet the minimum experience to apply\nAttendees are encouraged to bring their personal laptops to complete their online applications on site\nAttendees should have an active USA Jobs account (https://secure.login.gov/sign_up/enter_email)\nAttendees should have at least a rough draft resume (preferably in a Word document format)\nThe workshop will cover a resume review and application session (we may give a short presentation prior to resume review)\n\n*We’ll have recruiters on site to assist with updating resumes\, walking through the application\, and to answer general questions about our career opportunity and benefits \nYou qualify for the GL-5 grade level if you possess one of the following: \nExperience: One year of general experience (52 Weeks of 35 Hours/ Week = 1\,820 hours) equivalent to at least the next lower grade level that demonstrates the ability to take charge\, make sound decisions\, and maintain composure in stressful situations; to learn regulations\, methods\, and techniques through classroom training and/or on-the-job instruction; and the ability to gather concise information through questioning\, observation\, and examination of documents and records; \nOR \nEducation Substitution: A bachelor’s degree or successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited or college or university; \nOR \nCombination of Experience and Education: A combination of general experience AND successfully completed college education. This will be calculated using your resume and official or unofficial transcripts submitted with your application. \nEligible applicants must: \n\nBe a U.S. Citizen\nHave a valid\, non-restricted driver’s license\nHave resided in the U.S. for at least three of the last five years (Residency Requirement Exceptions)\nBe eligible to carry a firearm\nBe referred for selection prior to your 40th birthday (or receive an exception for veteran’s preference eligibility or previous service in a civilian law enforcement position)\nBe willing to travel\nPass the application process (see details below)\n\nYou may be disqualified if your background includes: \n\nUse of illegal drugs and/or the sale distribution of illegal drugs\nConvictions\, including misdemeanor domestic violence charges\nInternational harboring or concealment of undocumented aliens\n\nResume: A resume in English is required.
