LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) – Despite the rising unemployment rate in Laredo, the number of people getting jobs continues to grow.

According to the Texas Workforce Commission, Laredo’s civilian labor force has increased compared to the previous year. Employment also grew, with over 115,000 people working in Laredo. The industries that hired the most include trade and education.

In Laredo, the unemployment rate increased from 3.7% last December to 4.3%. Officials attribute this rise to the end of seasonal employment.
