Workforce Solutions hosts conference for employers on hiring people with disabilities

LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) – Workforce Solutions for South Texas is focusing on helping employers hire people with disabilities. Patricia Rincon from the agency spoke about the initiative.

“We have services for employers all the time,” Rincon said. “For National Disability Employment Month, we want to raise awareness about the support we offer to help employers hire people with disabilities.”

Rincon explained that the conference will guide making job applications more inclusive and accessible. Employers will learn about tax credits and other benefits available when they hire individuals with disabilities. There will also be information on assistive technology that can help job seekers at no cost.

The conference will take place on Thursday, October 24, from 10 a.m. to noon at Workforce Solutions, located at 1406 Jacqueline Road, Suite A. Employers can register here or simply show up on the day of the event.
